What’s a gal without fabulous shoes...besides barefoot? Nothing ties an ootfit together like a great pair. They can elevate a basic look like no other element you’re wearing...even maybe even (gasp!) your purse. We truly believe that shoes may have magical powers. What other part of a wardrobe instantly lifts us (literally!) and our spirits when we're feeling a lil’ humdrum?...SHOES, that’s what.

The fine folks at Journée Collection recognized how much we just love their footwear and they were kind enough to gift us each a stylish pair. Lucky us!

I’m a sucker for heels. Maybe it’s my childhood memory of my mum teetering off in one of her MANY Charles Jourdan pumps. Maybe, I just like the way my walk somehow turns into a strut once my heels get that familiar boost that heels bring. Either way, these grey Samara’s just spoke to me and I had to have them.-V

I wish you could step into these beauties (you should! and see for yourself how comfortable they are. I swear it. I may often suffer for fashion but in these, I don’t have to!-V

This is my fourth pair of JC shoes and they most certainly won’t be my last. Something about all my Journée Collection shoes just makes me feel chic whether I’m dressing them up or adding them to a casual ootfit in hopes of drawing eyes to my feet instead of my my likely unwashed hair. : ) -V

I’m very into flats this summer, especially a pointed toe pair. They make my legs look longer and are ideal for running after Max, the fastest crawler in the west. I’m especially into this bejewelled pair, they’re stunning and super comfortable with their padded soles.-S

Here I wore them with jeans and a blazer for an effortless look, but they also work great with a long floral skirt for a summer bbq or with dress pants for an office look. -S

The other amazing thing about Journee Collection is their guilt-free price point. Life is short, buy the shoes!-S

Thanks Journée Collection!!!

Here's to a sunshine & stylish-shoe-filled summer!

They’re baaaaaaack! Or maybe, they never left? Fannypacks, long the victim of unfair fashion attacks are clearly having their 're-moment' and we couldn’t be more pleased!

Montreal-based company, Holdur (@holdur_official) is adding true chicness to these super-convenient bags. Their designs are sleek, simple and they use the highest quality leathers, canvases and hardware. We were THRILLED to get our hands on them! Of course, being us we couldn’t help but play a little and try to buck tradition by wearing the bags in somewhat progressive fashion-forward ways.

I had a fanny pack in the mid 90s. It’s where I kept my Pog collection.Once my Pog phase passed, so did my fanny pack. Since then, I became a mom, and suddenly my hands (and even shoulders) are always full, so I bought my second ever fanny pack. It was a discreet little black thing I could sort of hide under my coat. I didn’t embrace the trend until I saw these Holdur bags. They’ve been around since 2014 so they predate the recent resurgence; they were also born out of necessity. But Nicole and Mathilde, the clever ladies behind Holdur, had the foresight to make them beautiful for all to see! -S

My favourite is the classic Holdur Petit, it’s still big enough to hold all your essentials, but small enough that it doesn’t dominate your outfit if, like me, you’re easing back into the trend. You can wear them 8 million different ways, which I love. They come with a wrist strap and a messenger strap, and crossbody straps are available as well. -S

As you’ve noticed, I typically wear a very neutral palette which is why I love to use accessories to add color to my outfits. Bright red is one of my go-to’s. Here I wore the crossbody strap as a belt to accentuate my waist. The canvas fabric of the bag is a bit more casual so I added sneakers to an otherwise very “madame” outfit to play that up. -S

Khaki is one of my favourite colours so when I saw the new Canva collection shades I grabbed up this perfect all-season fannypack. Rather than the regular waist strap, I used their Skinny Strap and double laced it through my (totally 80’s inspired) acid washed jeans. I even considered actually wearing it ‘round back, the way original fannypacks were worn!...but then I didn’t. : ) -V

Is there no end to where one can wear these bags? Even with a coat dress, I managed to work in some Holdur magic. Cross body purses are SO now that the gals at Holdur even thought ahead to make their straps work in this position. With just a couple adjustments to my Messenger Strap, my Holdur Classic leather bag went from classic fannypack to a sharp crossbody bag in a snap. There's just something both nostalgic and at once NEW about this piece. Thanks for an amazing collab, Nicole & Mathilde! We’re officially fannypack LOVERS!!!!

How lucky are we? Our hometown of Montreal is ripe with creatives and we were so excited to play with yet another local jeweler’s goodies.

This time, it was Alex Prijic Smith’s incredible line, Vargas Goteo. This isn’t just fine jewelry; it’s bling designed with a message of social responsibility. Alex hand crafts each piece (!) with the aim of starting a dialogue about the importance of protecting animal wildlife and oceans. Plus, she directly supports those groups who defend and conserve.

As a jeweler, I’ve always appreciated workmanship. Trends come and go but true artistry is everlasting. Often, my favourite jewelry is antique because as the old adage goes: they don’t make ‘em like they used to. Well, Vargas Goteo sure does. Each piece is handmade and I loved layering the super-delicate outline Manta and Little Fin necklaces with the strong Rhino pendant.-V

The heft and boldness of the pink gold Tiger Shark ring I wore was, in a word, perfect. Each piece is conceptualized using Alex’s keen eye for detail. The message behind this lovely line of jewelry is SO important but I can’t help but marvel at and love the quality. -V

Alex is incredibly passionate about what she does and it shows in her designs. Also, she donates a portion of the proceeds from every piece she sells to wildlife conservation organizations. She’s one of those people who make you want to be a better person. Each of her pieces is inspired by nature in an abstract way, which is very up my alley. It’s like if leopard print were jewelry :) My absolute favorite is the manta ring, I’m now the proud owner of two of them, they look gorgeous stacked.-S

I also got creative with arranging her beaded bracelets, incorporating some silver in there too. Alex has produced a very well crafted collection, all her designs mix and match seamlessly: bold and delicate, gemstones and metals. I can tell I’ll be a lifelong customer. -S

Thanks so much, Alex!

We ADORE Vargas Goteo!
