It’s winter here in Montreal for what feels like 13 months a year but that has never interrupted a style moment for us…even if they’re often buried under parkas and fur coats.
Nothing warms the cockles like a cozy sweater on a frigid day. We like to think of it as a metaphor for where we are in our dreams; wrapped up, toasty warm and preferably, nestled by cracking fire with a glass of wine…even if we’re actually out in the this frozen tundra we call home.
Contrast is so important and so interesting when putting together an outfit. A big, bulky sweater (H&M) paired with a dreamy, floral blouse (H&M), my favourite ripped up denim (AG Jeans) and of course, a strong white shoe (Charles Jourdan) and playful handbag finish the look.
Growing up, I stood in the cold waiting on the bus for hours in a uniform, so my legs are impervious to freezing temps. I'm just glad I'm allowed to wear my skirts shorter now than I was back then! This Zara faux-leather mini kilt + a cherished & Other Stories sweater are a perfect pairing. I added in Rag & Bone booties, a Christopher Kon oversized pageboy bag, trusty Warby Parker sunnies and a Zara fedora...a gal can't wash her hair EVERY day!
Fur + Leather...was there ever anything better? I can't think of a more perfect pairing than this Zara faux-fur monument to stylishness with leather leggings by Aritzia. For added intrigue, could these patent-leather oxfords be any cuter? I think not! And overused though it may be, the old saying "for a pop of colour" couldn't be more subtle and stylish than here, with this AllSaints deep red leather purse. Verdict? #Dix-Sur-Six!
